Design controls

Central site settings
Name, descriptor, homepage statement, facts, navigation, contact details and footer are set in one file, src/site.config.ts.
Homepage opening
Use a photograph or a text-only opening, and set how many featured projects and journal entries appear.
Colours, fonts and widths
Change the palette, font stacks, reading width, page width and gutter in the theme section of the settings file.
Typed project fields
Each project is a Markdown file with year, location, disciplines, status, collaborators, order and a gallery of full, half or inset images.
Journal formats
Write short notes or image-led case entries in Markdown or MDX, optionally linked to projects.
Photo registry
Every photo is registered once with alt text, caption, credit and licence, then referenced by key.
Visibility flags
Mark entries draft, unlisted or noindex. Unlisted pages are hidden from lists but still reachable by URL.
Search and discovery settings
Indexing, verification tags, llms.txt, IndexNow and GA4 with a consent notice are all off until you enable them.

Setup

  1. Install Node.js 24 LTS, then run npm ci in the extracted folder.
  2. Edit src/site.config.ts: domain, name, statement, contact and footer.
  3. Replace the demo projects in src/content/projects and photos in src/data/photos.json.
  4. Run npm run check and npm run build, then upload dist/ to a static host.
  5. Read DISCOVERY.md before turning on indexing or analytics.
