Freelance Desk is an Astro template that combines a magazine layout with a service fee table and an index of writing. Your name spans the opening as a masthead, with an italic headline, introductory paragraph and captioned photograph beneath it. It suits writers, editors, consultants, advisers, researchers, agents and small professional firms that explain their expertise through words. The fictional food and travel writer Clara Weiss is example content you replace with your own biography, services and work.
The fee table gives visitors a place to compare services, what each includes, its length and its fee. Columns for length or fee disappear when every corresponding field is empty. The Commissions and fees page adds space for terms and questions. A drop cap introduces the About text, while numbered credentials sit beside it. On wide screens, the full About story uses two columns. A large client pull quote and an index of recent writing continue the editorial structure.
Visitors can follow the main link to email you, or you can set it to your own booking or briefing page. Contact details include phone, hours and social profiles. Add an optional form by configuring an HTTPS endpoint that receives name, email and message. Freelance Desk sells nothing by default and has no payment code. Its included store module is off and can be enabled for fixed-price items sold through hosted checkout links.
Services, credentials, quotes, contact details and home section settings live in src/site.config.ts. Longer pages and writing entries use Markdown, with tags and RSS for published writing. Choose from eight palettes, change individual colors, select fonts and switch between single and double section rules. The optional EmDash CMS edition provides editing for pages, writing, menus and supported site settings on Node.js or Cloudflare Workers. Fees and appearance stay in the configuration file. Freelance Desk version 1.0.0 costs $47 USD one-time.
