Brief is an Astro site template for design, brand and creative studios, including small agencies, design practices and freelance teams. Numbered sections organize your work, services, process and team below a short opening headline over a full-bleed photo hero and a lead case study. The demo uses Wren Ferro, a fictional brand and signage studio, as example content you replace. Brief 1.0.0 costs $47 USD one-time.
The work index lets visitors browse by sector and sort projects by studio order, date or client name. Each case study brings together a sticky project fact sheet, the story, photographs with captions, deliverables and credits. Brief’s signature feature is a week-by-week timeline that shows the phases of a project. Set signature.timeline to false in src/site.config.ts to remove both the timelines and the studio process row. Other extras, including search and analytics, have switches in the same file.
Service pages describe what you offer and connect to relevant case studies. The Start a project page asks eight groups of intake questions. Set intake.formAction to post the answers to a configurable HTTPS endpoint; that service handles its confirmation page. Without an endpoint, the form opens the visitor’s email app with the answers filled in and explains that nothing has been sent yet. The email address remains visible beside the form. The Contact page can also show a message form when contact.formAction is set.
Edit case studies, services, team members, sectors and pages in Markdown, and write journal entries in Markdown or MDX. Use CUSTOMIZE.md and AGENTS.md to guide edits with any coding agent. For the optional EmDash edition, switch with npm run emdash:setup on Node.js or Cloudflare, where menus and site settings are edited in EmDash. Brief’s download includes EMDASH.md and the emdash/ folder, with content, menu and site settings changes appearing on the next request. Replace the sample privacy and terms text before publishing, then run the documented checks and build your site.
