Plumb Line gives trades and home service businesses space to explain what they do, where they work and how to request a quote. A wide photograph opens the home page, followed by numbered services, working standards, coverage towns and journal notes. White and deep blue surfaces, large service headings and system fonts organize the text. The demo uses a fictional plumbing and heating firm in Lowell, Massachusetts, as example content you replace with your own business details, services and photographs.
The template’s signature feature is an optional service price guide. Each service can show typical jobs, planning prices and included work beside its detailed scope. Set signature.priceGuide to false in src/site.config.ts to remove the tables while keeping service descriptions, inclusions, questions and quote links. Extras can be switched off in site.config.ts. The service index supports category filtering and alphabetical or editorial sorting, and the service area page lists your coverage towns together.
The quote form posts to a configurable HTTPS endpoint with an email fallback. Without an endpoint, it opens an email draft containing the visitor’s details; the visitor must send it. The fallback requires an email client, and a displayed email link remains available. Configure validation, spam handling, notifications and the return page with your form provider. An optional Contact link sends visitors to your own booking tool. Form submissions do not confirm appointments, and the template does not reserve time slots.
Plumb Line version 1.0.0 costs $47 USD one-time. Services, towns, pages and journal entries are Markdown files, while the default edition’s business details and appearance settings live in src/site.config.ts. Use CUSTOMIZE.md as the replacement checklist and AGENTS.md to edit with any coding agent. For the optional EmDash edition, switch with npm run emdash:setup and host it on Node.js or Cloudflare; menus and site settings are edited in EmDash. The template includes two CC0 photographs with records in ASSETS.json. Replace the example phone numbers, guide prices, credentials and legal policies before publishing.
