Chair is an Astro site template for barbers, salons and hair studios, priced at $47 USD one-time for version 1.0.0. The white, ink and cobalt layout uses Georgia headlines, a large opening photograph and a ruled service menu with prices and appointment lengths. Staff profiles, studio hours and journal entries help visitors choose a service and learn about your business. The demo uses the fictional Chair studio as example content you replace with your own business details, services, staff and photographs.
The signature appointment summary totals the prices and durations of selected services. It provides an estimate before visitors follow a link to your booking tool, where they choose their services again and confirm availability. It does not reserve a slot or transfer their selections. Switch the summary off with features.appointmentSummary in src/site.config.ts to keep the service menu and direct booking links. The contact form posts to your configurable HTTPS endpoint; leaving that endpoint empty displays an email link instead.
Gift cards have checkout links for each product, and the default setup can run on a static host. Use HTTPS checkout links from Stripe Payment Links, Polar, Lemon Squeezy or Shopify. An optional Stripe Checkout cart needs a server adapter and your own Stripe secret key stored on the server. Your providers handle gift card issuance, delivery, balances and redemption. Set commerce.enabled to false in src/site.config.ts to remove the gift card commerce extras, and leave commerce.cart.enabled false when commerce is off. Replace the demo links and verify your provider configuration before accepting payments.
Edit services, staff, journal entries, gift cards and pages in Markdown, with business details and interface wording in src/site.config.ts. CUSTOMIZE.md explains the editing process, and AGENTS.md gives instructions for editing with any coding agent. The source includes two CC0 photographs with provenance in ASSETS.json; add your own studio photography and replace the sample policies before publication. Switch to EmDash 1.1.0 with npm run emdash:setup for Node.js or npm run emdash:setup — –target cloudflare for Cloudflare Workers, as described in EMDASH.md. Its admin edits gift cards, categories, services, staff profiles, journal entries, pages, menus and site settings.
